The Last 4 months.......in a nutshell

It has been a long time since I have updated and a lot has happened. Here is a little glimpse at what we have been up to the last few months.....First here are a few pictures from Easter. Not We had an Easter egg hunt outside for the boys with plastic eggs filled with candy, quarters, and dollars. The boys had a lof of fun hunting for them. The Easter Bunny hid the eggs the boys colored in the house on Easter morning. The boys love looking for eggs. I was sick with strep over the Easter weekend and so I didn't get a lot of pictures.

One of our highlights of the last few months was getting rid of our nasty, old, embarressing berber carpet and replacing it with these beautiful wood floors. We have been talking about doing it for years and finally got it done. Of course we couldn't have done it without Seans brother in-laws Mike and Jason and Seans dad. They came down for the weekend and worked dang hard to get the floors put in and they look awesome. We did the whole downstairs and we absolutely love it!! Thanks so much guys for all your help.

Here is the kitchen.

Here is a close up of the beautiful wood floors!
Jalen and Landon both played soccer in the spring. They both really enjoyed it. I feel bad because I only got a picture of Jalen playing and I have none of Landon. Oops! I bet Aunt Tam has some pictures. I will have to get some of Landon from her.

My family had a tragedy a few months ago. My sister Bridget was burned really bad in a house fire. We weren't sure if she would survive the burns and severe lung damage that she sustained. Through prayer, the priesthood, the amazing doctors and nurses, and all the love and support of family and friends and the grace of God she is recovering and amazing the doctors each day. Right after the fire I felt I needed to get home to be with my family and sister. I had to leave a week before the boys got out of school and was worried about leaving them and Sean. Thank goodness my in-laws came to the rescue and came and stayed with Sean and the boys. Cache and I left for Ohio and Sean and the boys were going to join us after the boys got out of school. I am so grateful for Seans parents help. It really made me feel better about leaving at the spur of the moment. Thanks so much! Since I was going to miss Landons birthday we celebrated a few days early.

Oops an Easter picture! The boys hunting for eggs.

Back to Landons early birthday celebration. Happy 6th Birthday Landon!

Landons 2nd Birthday celebration. I had already left for Ohio. Grandma made it extra special for him. She decorated, they took him to Chuck E Cheese to play games, and to Applebees for Dinner.

She made this sweet cake that put my cake to shame! I am so glad that Grandma and Grandpa were here to celebrate his birthday with him. I felt bad being gone.
So after the boys got out of school, Sean and them left for Ohio. Just him and the boys on a two day trip across the country. Things went well and they made it to Ohio safely. We were all very glad to see each other.
Our trip to Ohio this summer wasn't exactly our normal vacation. We were very glad to get to see everyone and the boys got to see their cousins. It was different because a lot of the time was spent at the hospital. We all took turns going to see my sister at the hospital and visiting with my parents who spent most days and nights there. Most of the time I got to spend with my parents was at the hospital and my kids didn't see them a whole lot. It was a bummer, but I knew my parents were where they were suppose to be. Apparently I didn't really take any pictures while I was in Ohio. Oops. A week or so after I got home from Ohio my nephew, Carl, came to stay with us. He has been here for about 5 or so weeks and is staying a couple more. He loves Utah and we are enjoying his company. Our home is small, but he has set up camp in the front room on an air mattress.
I really need to be better with taking my camera with me. We have had a lot of visitors this summer. We love our visitors. We just wish we had more space for them. Seans brother and his family came to visit the end of June. We had lots of fun hanging out with them. My sister-in-law and I ran the Lehi round up race together. This was our second year and we decided we wanted to make it a tradition. It was a lot of fun despite the fact that the course was not flat this year like it was last year. I struggled, but finished!
Our next visitors were my sister, Jen and her 4 kids from Ohio. We always have a lot of fun when she comes. We spend most of the time hanging out and getting together with my sister Em that lives in West Jordan. My mom flew in for a few days to drive back with my sister. While my mom was here we did lots of fun things. We went to temple square and walked around. We got a babysitter for all the kiddos and went to Park City shopping. It was so much fun and we didn't have the kids to worry about. Just baby Cache. We went to Seven Peaks courtesy of Grandma! It is her tradition when she comes to take everyone to Seven Peaks. The kids had a blast even though it was a 100+ degrees. Thanks Grandma! We also went to Silver Lake for a picnic and fishing. It was fun despite all the bugs and dirt. The kids loved fishing. Jalen caught a few fish. For some reason he is the only one that caught any and he was the only one that caught any last year. I found that odd, he finds himself lucky! We had so much fun with my sister and her kids and my mom visiting. It is always so hard to see them go. I look forward to more good times next summer!

Landon at swim lessons. He loved them and he learned so much!

Jalen at swim lessons. He loved and learned so much also!

Jalen up to bat at his coach pitch game. He had a lot of fun playing and he did a great job!
A few weekends ago we got to go to Yellowstone and camping. We hadn't been to Yellowstone since I was pregnant for Landon. Seans brother and family and us all headed to Yellowstone and to camp for a few nights. The kids loved it and we had a lot of fun seeing family!

Landon and Carter waiting for Old Faithful.

What a cute picture of Cache all except for the snot! Dang snot!

My nephew Carl showing off for the camera! He loves the spotlight!

We had a lot of fun over the weekend. I was so excited to see my friend and old neighbor Liz and her kids. Thanks so much for coming and meeting us. It was so good to see you guys! I sure miss you guys. Of course my camera battery was dead that day and so I didn't even get a picture.

Baby Cache is growing up! He is getting so big. He rolls all over the place. He is such a happy, content baby. We love this little guy! Couldn't have asked for a sweeter baby!
We have been busy these last few months. I will try and be better at posting and taking pictures. I have missed a lot of picture opportunities! I am going to be better.
Life has been busy and going by so fast. Sean and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary! It is hard to believe! Time goes by so fast. I am so grateful for my family and all my blessings! I love being a mom (most days), I love my family, I love the gospel and my calling, I love my life! I am so grateful for all the wonderful people that are in it!

FRUSTRATED

I am sure any mom that reads this will know exactly how I am feeling. I was so frustrated the other night trying to clean up. I feel like I can't keep up with my boys and keeping the house clean. Everytime I clean something I turn around and then it is a mess again. I am going from mess to mess and I feel like no one can clean up after themselves. I am always telling them to and trying to teach them to clean up messes when they are done. Apparently no one is catching on to what I am telling them!! Anyways I was just very frustrated as I was walking through the house and picking up and seeing what a mess it was! Sean was then telling the boys (Landon is the main culprit) that they needed to clean up after themselves and to put their things away. So Landon wrote me this note all by himself and brought it to me.....

I am still having a hard time getting him to clean up after himself. I just keep reminding him of his note. I guess I need to get use to it right. I am probably going to be cleaning up after boys for a lot of years. I am feeling very out numbered and exhausted!

Baptism and Baby Blessing

Jalen and his best friend

Sean and Jalen
We had a busy last week. My sister came from Boise and my Parents flew in from Ohio last Thursday. All of Seans family came on Friday from Idaho and California. Jalen was baptized on Saturday and then Cache was blessed on Sunday. It was great! We had such a good weekend with family and friends. We are so grateful for all of the support of our families. We are so proud of Jalen for making the choice to be baptized. He was very excited for his special day and even more excited to share it with his best buddy. He was also so excited that his cousins got to come and see him get baptized.

I was so glad my mom and my sisters were here to help with all the preparations getting ready for the blessing and baptism. Of course first we had to play a little after my parents got in. On Friday my Dad had to take the kids to Boondocks. It is tradition that he takes them when he comes. My kids really look forward to going to Boondocks with Grandpa and they didn't have school on Friday and so it worked out perfect. The boys played lots of games and got lots of prizes. They had lots of fun. Then of course Saturday was Jalens Baptism. It was great. Sean did a great job with the baptism and the confirmation. It was me who was caught off guard when the counselor conducting asked me to say a few words! I will be prepared for that next time. All the baptisms I go to being the primary president I had never seen that done before. I guess I will be prepared at Landons! After the baptism we had all the family over for pizza. I was worried about fitting 30 people in my tiny house, but it all worked out just fine. It was so great to be able to have everyone over.

Then Sunday was Caches baby blessing. I thought that he was going to cry through it because he was a little fussy when it was time to go up, but he didn't. Sean did a great job. We are so grateful for all of those who were able to stand in the circle for Jalen and Cache. It was so neat. After church everyone came over for lunch. Then Seans family all had to head back home that afternoon.

My parents got to hang around for a few more days. We got to hang out and visit. It was so great to see them. I am so glad that got to make the trip here for our special events. Thanks everyone for coming and for making it so special.
