My New Calling

I recieved a new calling at church on Sunday..... Primary President!! I am feeling very lucky that I get to spend every Sunday in primary with the sweet children of the ward. I am very excited to serve where I am asked. Although that doesn't mean I am not worried, nervous, and just plain scared! I know that I will grow tremendously from this experience and it will bless the life of me and my family. I feel very grateful that the Lord would trust me with these precious children! Now I just need some time to figure out what I am doing! I know that we are not given anything that we cannot handle! Amy and Misti be prepared for all the phone calls! I have some big shoes to fill!

MY FLOWERS

I was very excited when we came home from vacation to see how big and colorful my flowers were in my parking strip! They didn't look like this at all when we left and they didn't look like this last year when we first planted them. I am so excited at how they turned out! Although I can't take any credit for the way they look because I really haven't done anything besides pull a few weeds and water them! Now I am waiting for my daisies to bloom in the next week or so we will be overtaken with them. I am just glad that no one can see my roses that are in the back. I guess you actually have to take care of them and I am not sure how yet!

Washington D.C.

Before we flew back from North Carolina we got to visit D.C. for a couple of days. It was fun to see all the stuff, but I think that we wore the boys out with the heat and all the walking. They were pretty good sports though for what we put them through. We really only had less than two days to see the sights before we had to fly out. We got to see a lot of stuff. We really packed it all in in less than 48 hours. It was fun and the best part about it was everything is free.

We got to go see the D.C. temple. That is where my parents and siblings were sealed. It was awesome. It had a been a while since I had been to see it.

Jalen and I outside the White House. It was cool. We saw the special guards on the rooftop keeping the place safe.

Breaking for lunch. Talk about some overpriced hot dogs!

Jalen and the giant Abe. He really wanted his picture taken by everything. It was cute.

Here is us at the mall.

The boys checking things out at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. It was awesome. The boys loved it.

Here is the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetary. This was right before Landon got yelled at by the guard for not standing up. He was tired already and it was hot, but I guess that is no excuse for a 5 year old.

The boys at the zoo. They were wiped out. This was as we were walking out and they needed a rest.

Outer Banks, North Carolina

We had so much fun going to the Outer Banks with my family a few weeks ago. It worked out last minute that everyone was going to be able to make it and we would all be together. It is not often that all 33 of us get together at the same time. My parents rented this awesome house right on the beach. The view out the back window was the ocean. It was a short walk out the back door and you were on the beach. Since we would all be together we suprised my parents and had a photographer come and take our family picture on the beach. It was great. We had a great week. The first few days were rainy and cold and so we had to stay in, but by the middle of the week we got to spend lots of time on the beach. The boys loved building sand castles, running from the waves and looking for crabs and seashells. They really loved going in the hot tub too! We got to have family night with everyone together and that was fun. We had a fun week together and it was so great to see the whole family. I miss them all so much already!

This was our view from the back deck of the house. This day the ocean was angry.

This is me and all my siblings.

This is the 16 grandkids. This can give you an idea of how the family pictures went. Even a profesional can hardly handle all these kids!
